Mission: SODA seeks to assist our Core Members as they strive to be included in the activities of the community, most notably the world of work and service to others.
Statement of Values: SODA is a not-for-profit, tax exempt organization. Our primary duty is to serve and advance the cause of disabled Americans. In so doing we try to create work and service opportunities within their communities. We seek ways to harness the power of the marketplace for our own self improvement while believing that inclusion & diversity is a continuing source for creativity and strength of America. We champion causes that promote growth and add to the vitality of our society. We promote work as a beneficial activity and respect the profit motive as a primary force for influencing human behavior. We are honest and ethical, in our dealings with each other, with our supporters as well as those we serve. We look for able and willing partners whose values blend well with our own.

EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR: PS "Steve" Bundy, MEd Steve, a believer in work, has owned his own business, stayed active in non-profit community, and been fully engaged on issues relating to the disabled for 42 years. He founded SODA in 2003. His Masters degree was taken at the Department of Educational Psychology at the University of Washington in 1982. Steve believes in dreams. |

PROGRAMS AND EVENTS DIRECTOR: Porteah Dabeni escaped the brutal atocities of Liberia's civil war to the harsh realities of a refugee camp in Ghana. A proud citizen of the US, she has been here since 1999. She is a no-nonsense but fun loving individual whose character leaves a lasting impression on all who meet her. Porteah has an unusual talent for organization as well as an innate skill for bringing people together. |

OPERATIONS DIRECTOR: Johnny Morrison Konneh was educated in West Africa and Europe. He worked a decade as the Facitlities Manager for LDS Church in Ghana where he was responsible for Land acquistion, Construction, and Maintenance of Church facilities in West Africa. Johnny emmigrated to the US in 2002 and became a US citizen in 2009. He has agreed to donate his time and talent to help SODA meet our administrative challenges. |

PUBLIC RELATIONS & ADVOCACY DIRECTOR
Katherine Johnston is the victim of a brain injury accident more than 17 years ago that deprived her the livlihood of a gourmet chef as well as a small fashion design business. She has since been struggling to regain her abilities and capitalize on her many strengths. Katherine knows what it is like to be twice victimized by an injury, once by the injury itself and then by the system put in place to assist you. This is a woman who never becomes frustrated or angry. |

Developing meaningful programs in the areas listed below is the on-going work of Service Opportunities for Disabled Americans.. Is there a specific need or interest you would like us to pursue? Let us know. We will be glad to discuss and work with you further. info@SodaMoon.com
1. Employment: To spearhead projects involving disabled adults in the design, development and marketing of products and/or services.
2. Nutrition: To promote nutritional values and diets to residential programs serving disabled adults, as well as those living independently or at home.
3. Inclusion: To design, raise funds, promote and produce social events which provide a context for meaningful interaction between the disabled and non-disabled members of the community.
4. Aging: To assist selected service providers write grants and raise funds for innovating programs tailored specifically to deal proactively with issues of aging.
5. Families: To advocate for the provision of respite services specially tailored to the needs of families caring for a disabled adult member at home.
6. Independence: To implement supportive transitional strategies for disabled adults no longer desiring or able to live at home with their parents.
7. Volunteering: To implement vital volunteer programs demanding discipline and dedication from the participants and challenging their perceptions of what it means to be normal.
